Vaunda L. Gorby

SEBRING – Vaunda L. Gorby, 81, of Sebring passed away on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at her home.

Vaunda was born on Nov. 23, 1931, in Pekin, Ohio, to the late Arthur and Euphania (Wilson) Moore.

She was a graduate of Sebring High School and a longtime worker at American Art and China retiring after 52 years of service and ownership. She also enjoyed compiling family history, a member of the Sebring Historical Society and the American Legion Post 76 Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons, Ray “Rayme” (Kim) Gorby of Alliance and Randy Gorby of Sebring; Paula Gorby of Sebring; grandchildren, Brandy (Chris) Roose-DiFilippo of Brimfield, Ohio, Randi (Dan Ritchey) Roose of Sebring; great-grandson, Noah Ritchey of Sebring; a grandson, Derek (Stephanie) Gorby of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ray in 2008; a son, Richard “Rick” Gorby in 1981; a sister, Velma; and four brothers; Jack, Art, Wendall and Dick.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Pastor Norma Bates officiating.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Grandview Cemetery in Sebring.
