Helen E. Snyder

COLUMBIANA – Helen E. Snyder, 89, of Columbiana, died at 7:05 p.m. Sunday at Assumption Village in North Lima.

Born April 2, 1924, in Curwensville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Herbert S. and Sadonia (Zehner) Spencer.

Mrs. Snyder was a homemaker and had worked as a riveter on airplane wings during World War II. She was a member of the New Springfield Church of God.

Her husband, William George Snyder, whom she married Aug. 15, 1945, is deceased.

Survivors include two sons, William E. (Ruthe) Snyder of Columbiana and David L. (Terry) Snyder of Hilliard; four sisters, Ruth Harmon of San Diego, Calif., Betty Kellner of Columbiana, Donna Mercer of Salem and Laura Clark of Canfield; two brothers, Al Spencer of Burgoon and Art Spencer of Trumbull, Conn.; two grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the New Springfield Church of God.

Arrangements were handled by the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home.

Memorial tributes may be made to either the church or Hospice of the Valley.
