Ruth Worst

EAST PALESTINE-Ruth Worst, 68, of Enon Road, Enon Valley, Pa., died at 11 p.m. Wednesday at her home.

Ruth was born June 12, 1945, in Pittsburgh, Pa., a daughter of the late Arthur and Ruth Doherty Schoedel, and had resided in the Enon Valley area for the past 26 years.

A member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in East Palestine, she had been an active member of the church including serving as a teacher for the CCD classes, and had made many, many rosaries for Catholic missions.

She is survived by her husband, Harold F. Worst, whom she married March 27, 1967; four daughters, Theresa Truax, Catherin Miller, Tammy Sorrell and Sarah Lovich; and six sons, Thomas, Daniel, David, Matthew, Gregory and Arthur Worst. Ruth also leaves nine brothers and sisters, 24 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Palestine. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that mass intention cards be sent on behalf of Ruth. The Mass cards can be picked up at the funeral home or from family members.
