SALEM- Dolores Stockwell, 88, of Salem, died at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at the Hospice House in Poland, Ohio. She was born March 16, 1925, in Salem, Ohio, a daughter of the late John I. and Mercedes (Snyder) Shepard.
Dolores was an L.P.N. at the Salem Community Hospital and Salem Central Clinic for 47 years, retiring in 1990. She was a 1943 graduate of Greenford High School and Baptist by faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Carlisle of Salem; a son, David (Debra) Stockwell of Sylvania, Ohio; a sister, Violet Sanders of Venice, Fla.; two brothers, Jack Shepard and Don Shepard, both of Salem; two grandchildren, John Carlisle and Jennifer (William) Walker; and two great-grandchildren, Nicole and Megan Walker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Stockwell, in 1994; three sisters, Carolyn Dusenberry, Phyllis Snyder and infant Shirley Shepard; and three brothers, Dallas, Dean and infant Donald Shepard.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home. Calling hours will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the services. Interment will be at Hope Cemetery in Salem.
