SEBRING – Elma Kerr passed away at her home on Jan. 19, 2014.
Elma was born on Dec. 30, 1923, in Garfield, Ohio, the daughter of the late Frank and Florance (Irvin) Mather.
Elma was a lifelong member of Damascus Friends Church where she taught Sunday school, a member of the Fidelis Sunday school class and a member of the Young at Heart. She enjoyed gardening, working with flowers and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by three sons, Clifford “Kenneth” (Garrie) Kerr of Damascus, Frank (Eileen) Kerr of Carrollton and David (Paula) Kerr of Marion, Ind.; three daughters, Florance Ferguson of Virginia Beach, Va., Linda (David) Peterson of Damascus and Kathy (Chris) Hanna of St. John, New Brunswick; 23 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by a sister, Edna Greenawalt of Beloit.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Kerr; two brothers, Raymond and Earl Mather; a sister, Martha Flory; and a son-in-law, David Ferguson.
Services will be held at noon Friday, Jan. 24, at the Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Damascus Cemetery.
