Gene MacArthur McCoy

SALEM – Gene MacArthur McCoy, 69, of Salem Unity Road died Saturday in Jackson, Tenn.

Born May 13, 1944, in Rogers, he was the son of Edward L. McCoy and Olive V. Black McCoy Miller.

Mr. McCoy was a truck driver for 48 years, most recently for Landstar Inway.

Survivors include his two sons, Shelton (Diane) McCoy and Robert (Susan Miller) McCoy, both of Salem; his fiancee, Belinda Ser of Salem; a sister, Alice Hardie of East Palestine; a brother, Charles (Regina) McCoy of East Palestine; and two grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Vera E. Joyce, who died in 2010.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home in Columbiana with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
