Jacqueline J. Calvin

SALEM – Jacqueline J. Calvin, 78, went home to be with her Lord early Tuesday morning, Feb. 25.

Jacqueline was born on Oct. 15, 1935, in Youngstown, a daughter of Grant and June (Engler) Hixson. She attended Boardman High School, and was a lifetime member of Paradise Church in Canfield.

Jacqueline married Maurice Calvin on Oct. 20, 1951, and together they would raise four children. She was a homemaker; she was later employed by Gateways to Better Living as a residential caregiver. She enjoyed cooking, but her true joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory her three sons, Robert (Norma) Calvin of Lisbon, and Jeff and Todd Calvin of Canfield; two sisters, Carol Leone of Sebring and Geraldine Myers of New Mexico; eight grandchildren, Michelle (John) Esposito of Columbiana, Jason Calvin of Lisbon, Travis Calvin of Lisbon, Heidi (Joel) Flynn of Hubbard, Abbie (Alan) Kay of Beaufort, S.C., Ben Kenney of Columbiana, Derek Calvin of Canfield, and Aaron Jackson of Youngstown; and five great-grandchildren, Jesse, Ondrea, Evan, Jax, and infant girl Kay in South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Maurice who passed away on July 22, 2010, her daughter Lori Kenney, who passed away on Dec. 10, 2011, her sister Diane Saltsman, and her brother Marvin Hixson.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, March 1, at Paradise Church, 10020 New Buffalo Road, Canfield, with the Rev. David Parry officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 11500 Market St., North Lima, and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

The family suggests that if friends desire, memorials in Jacqueline’s name may be donated to Paradise Church, 10020 New Buffalo Road, Canfield, Ohio 44406.
