Jean E. Wright
SALEM – Jean E. Wright, 80, of Salem died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014, at the Circle of Care in Salem.
She was born Jan. 12, 1934, in Wilkinsburg, Pa., the daughter of the late Otto Paul and Florence (Gatewood) Beighley.
Mrs. Wright retired from the West Branch School System as a teacher for 25 years. She was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church, a 1951 graduate of Salineville High School and a 1971 graduate of Kent State University with a bachelor’s in education. In addition to being a teacher at West Branch she coached Junior High School girls basketball and taught Driver’s Ed. Jean spent her retirement years as an avid golfer.
Her husband, Ray Alexander Wright, whom she married June 20, 1951, preceded her in death on April 23, 1998.
Survivors include two daughters, Debra Wright of Youngstown and Mary Jo Kelley of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; a sister, Jo Ann Altman of Mansfield; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, John and James Wright; a daughter, Gail Wright; and three brothers, Don Richard Beighley, John Louis Beighley and Robert Dean Beighley.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit.
