LEETONIA – Memorial services for Marjorie Adelle Starkie, 92, formerly of Guilford Lake, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Jacob’s United Church of Christ, 5219 St. Jacob’s-Logtown Road, Leetonia.

Mrs. Starkie died March 25 at Westover Retirement Community in Hamilton. Her obituary was published in the April 3 edition.

Calling hours will be held from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the services at the church.

Marjorie Adelle Starkie

HAMILTON -Marjorie Adelle Starkie, 92, formerly of Guilford Lake, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Westover Retirement Community in Hamilton, Ohio.

Marjorie was born in Salem, Ohio, Jan. 19, 1922, the daughter of Clyde and Myrtle (Horn) Hanna.

She graduated from David Anderson High School in Lisbon in 1940. She was united in marriage with James Starkie on June 10, 1942.

Marjorie had been a 4-H leader, a deputy grand matron of the Eastern Star, and an aide at Bycroft School in Columbiana County. She loved traveling, reading, and church work. She was a former member of St. Jacob’s United Church of Christ in Leetonia and a member of Carlson Memorial United Methodist Church in LaBelle, Fla.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by infant daughter, Susanne, her husband, James on Nov. 15, 2010, and brothers, Leroy and Richard Hanna.

She is survived by her son, J. Randall (Nancy) Starkie of Hamilton; cherished grandsons, Zach Starkie of Cincinnati and Ben Starkie of Dallas, Texas; sister-in-law, Myrtle Hanna; brother-in-law, Robert(Annie) Huffnagle; numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.

The family wishes to thank the Westover Healthcare staff and Crossroads Hospice for their loving care.

A memorial service will be held at St. Jacob’s United Church of Christ in Leetonia on Saturday May 3, 2014, at 1 p.m., with friends received one hour prior to the service. Cremation has taken place.
