Paul Reuben Dorantich

SALEM – Paul Reuben Dorantich, 74, of Salem, died at his home with his family by his side Tuesday afternoon, April 22, 2014, following a long illness.

He was born Sept. 22, 1939, in Massillon, Ohio, son of the late Robert and Mildred Pauline (Carver) Dorantich.

Paul was a 1957 graduate of Champion High School and retired July 1, 2008, from General Motors in Lordstown where he was a material handler for 37 years. He was previously a welder with American Welding in Warren for five years.

Paul was a member of the Damascus Friends Church, V.F.W. Post #1590 in Warren, Nash Car Club and U.A.W. #1112. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by three sons, Joseph A. Dorantich, Robert P. Dorantich and Anthony R. Dorantich; and a sister, Marcia Z. Taylor.

His wife, Joanna Salvino-Dorantich, whom he married July 1, 2008, survives him; along with sons, Timothy P. Dorantich of Newton Falls, Ohio, and Jonathan S. Dorantich of Tall Timbers, Md.; a sister, Joan E. Stesiak of Pittsburgh; a brother, Robert M. Dorontich of Florence, Ala.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor John Ryser officiating.

Calling hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery with military honors provided by the Salem Honor Guard.
