SALEM – Vincent Domencetti, 103, of Salem, died at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at the Essex of Salem II.
He was born April 11, 1910, in Dongo, Italy, son of the late Peter and Theresa (Manzi) Domencetti.
Vincent was a supervisor at the Mullins Manufacturing Company, retiring in 1974 with 46 years of service.
His memberships include the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Salem, Salem Area Retired Workers and Salem Senior Citizens where he had served as president and trustee. He was a former member of the Willow Grove Grange, loved the outdoors, sports and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
He loved entertaining at many of the local nursing homes and was the director of the Senior Citizen “Pokey Dot Band.” He was “Salem Italian Festival Citizen of the Year” in 2008 and the “Outstanding Senior Citizen of the Year” in 1997.
His wife, Pauline Nutial Domencetti, whom he married April 11, 1932, preceded him in death July 24, 1968. A brother, Victor Domencetti, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, Robert (Becky) Domencetti of Salem; four daughters, Joan Utt of Lisbon, Lois (Dick) Dorazio of Levittsburg, Ohio, Debby Domencetti of Indianapolis, Ind., and Terri (Fred) Denton of Salem; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2014, at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Smearsoll officiating.
Calling hours will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will be at the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery.
