W. Virgil Clark

COLUMBIANA – W. Virgil Clark, 86, of Columbiana, died at 4:25 a.m. Saturday at the Salem Regional Medical Center.

Born Nov. 1, 1927, in East Liverpool, he was the son of the late Charles L. and Laura R. (Chamberlain) Clark.

Mr. Clark had served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Chicago during World War II. He had been employed as a shipper/receiver for the Cold Strip Plant of Colt Industries in Midland, Pa., retiring in 1992.

His wife, the former, Edith B. Wills, died April 6, 2014.

Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Ann (William) Kesti of Granite Bay, Calif., and Lita (Michael) Himes of Columbiana; two sons, Bruce W. (Carol) Clark of Elk Grove, Calif., and Charles L. Clark of North Highlands, Calif.; a sister, Joyce Gamble of Calcutta; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Jess A. Clark.

Services will be held at noon Thursday at the Columbiana County Memorial Park Cemetery, Calcutta where the Tri-State Honor Guard will accord military honors.

There are no calling hours.
