DARLINGTON, Pa. – Felix Makowski, 97, of Georgetown Road, died at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at Salem Regional Medical Center where he was taken after becoming ill at Covington Community Campus, East Palestine.
Felix was born Aug. 27, 1916 in Beaver Falls, one of eight children born to the late Frank and Mary Makowski. He was a World War II Army veteran and had been employed for over 40 years at the former Babcock & Wilcox East Works of Beaver Falls, prior to his retirement.
He was a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church of Darlington.
His wife of over 50 years, the former Alice Mae George, survives him as does two sons, Ronald (Jackie) Makowski of New Waterford and Wesley Hays of Delaware; a daughter, Sandra Hardcastle of New Waterford; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
He was preceded by two grandchildren, Thomas and Dena Marie Weisenberger, as well as all his brothers and sisters.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, 644 East Main Street, East Palestine. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Negley.
