Jacqueline June (Van Hovel) Ewing

SILVER SPRING, Md. – Loving mother of three, grandmother of six and great-grandmother of eight, Jacqueline June (Van Hovel) Ewing died peacefully at home in Silver Spring, Md., from complications of Alzheimer’s disease (The Longest Good-bye), on Sunday, June 1, 2014.

Formerly of Salem, Ohio, she was the beloved wife of the late Joseph H. Ewing.

She is survived by two sons, Joe Ewing Jr. of Jupiter, Fla., and Bill Ewing of Hague, Va., and daughter Jackie Pearson of Silver Spring, Md. Also survived by six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd., West, Silver Spring, Md., Friday, June 6, from 7 to 9 p.m.

Rite of Christian burial at the Shrine of St. Jude, Rockville, Md., will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 7.

Jackie was the daughter of the late Claus Van Hovel and Hazel Sommerville Van Hovel of Salem, Ohio. She was sister to the late Arling Van Hovel and to the late Theda Cook and is survived by her remaining two sisters Gerry Sullivan and Donna Theiss, all from Salem, Ohio.
