Kaye Louise Barnard
LISBON – Kaye Louise Barnard, 72, of Prattville, AL and formerly of Leetonia, died Friday, July 18, 2014 at Prattville Health and Rehabilitation.
Kaye was born Sept. 1, 1941 in Leetonia, a daughter of the late Wilson B. and Phyllis J. (Ware) Corna.
She operated her own salon as a young woman and later worked as a nurse at the Salem City Hospital.
A member of the Columbiana Baptist Church, she served in both their music ministry and prison ministry. She enjoyed crafting including crotchet, knitting and cross-stitch. She and her late husband traveled extensively in their motor home.
Surviving are her sisters Sue Cole of Columbiana, Linda Kyser of Prattville, AL, and Diana Smith of Salem; three step-daughters and two stepsons, eight nieces and nephews, 12 great-nieces and nephews, and a great-great-nephew.
Her husband, Cecil Barnard, whom she married June 29, 1974, died in 1985. She was preceded in death by a nephew as well.
There will be a celebration of life service at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Columbiana Baptist Church with her nephew Pastor Matthew Smith officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park.
