Roger Dale Schreffler
SALEM – Roger Dale Schreffler, 66, of Salem, died at 3 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2014, at the Salem Regional Medical Center with his family by his side.
He was born June 17, 1948, in Somerset, Pa., son of the late Meredith and Hazel (Boyer) Schreffler.
Roger had worked in maintenance for eight years at the Realife Church and had previously worked at the Crane Deming Company for 35 years. He was a 1966 graduate of Leetonia High School and a member of the Washingtonville V.F.W. and Salem AMVETS Post #45. He was a very active member of the Realife Church and involved with the church and outreach programs. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
His wife, Delia “Dee” (Gaither) Schreffler, whom he married Sept. 13, 1969, survives him along with a son, Mark (Christine) Schreffler of Charleston, S. C.; a daughter, Nicole (Joel) Andrews of Salem; a brother, Robert (Linda) Schreffler of Lisbon; and three grandchildren, Cody (Kellen) Smeltzer, Tyler Smeltzer and Josie Andrews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at the Realife Church with Pastor Jason Vickery officiating. Military honors provided by the Salem Honor Guard will follow the services at the church. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church.
