William C. Reich
SALEM – William C. Reich, 71, of Salem, died at 8:48 p.m. Tuesday at his home surrounded by his family.
Bill was born on Oct. 17, 1942, in Salem, the son of the late C. Raymond and Rena Rae (Kaminsky) Reich.
He retired as owner/operator of the Lease Drug Store in 2009. He started there at age 15, went to college and returned as a pharmacist and then owner of the store.
He was an active member of the Salem First Christian Church under the ministry of Rev. Leonard Moore, where he had been a former Elder, Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and sang in the choir. He was a 1960 graduate of Salem High School and a 1965 graduate of Ohio Northern. He was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi, Salem Elks, and Sons of the American Legion in Lady Lake, Fla.
Bill and Judy loved to spend time at their home in Water Oak, in Lady Lake, Fla. They enjoyed their time there and attending United Methodist Church of Coleman under the ministry of Rev. William Buell.
In his spare time he enjoyed walking thru the woods looking for deer and especially in Waterworth Park. He was a big sports fan and liked his Buckeyes and Steelers. Bill liked to go golfing as well as hunting spare golf balls.
Bill most of all enjoyed his family and spending time with them. It was his strong faith that helped him thru his journey of life. He was a very devout husband, loving father, grandfather and special friend. He will be truly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, the former Judith Ann Schaeffer whom he married on Aug. 10, 1963; his children, Michael William (Jennifer) Reich of Geneva, Ohio, and Jennifer Anne (Steve Gordon) Reich of North Kingsville, Ohio; grandchildren, Sarah & Bethany Reich, Destiny, Donovan and Micah Albu; sister-in-law, Judith Reich of Avon Lake, Ohio; and brother-in-law James (Lynne) Schaeffer of Venice, Fla.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Robert, and a grandson, Joshua Reich.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem. The Rev. William Buell will be officiating the services with burial in Grandview Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the services.
The family is asking that donations be made to the memorial fund of the First Christian Church in Salem.
