Harriet L. Campbell

DARLINGTON, Pa. – Harriet L. Campbell, 94, of Cannelton Road, died at 2:27 p.m. Wednesday at the Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, South Beaver Twp., where she had been a patient for the past few years.

She was born July 23, 1920 in Ohio, a daughter of the late Fred and Amelia Schaal Wellendorf, and had resided in the Cannelton area since her marriage. She had at one time been employed with the former S & H Green Stamps Redemption Center, and well as with Harvey Trailer Sales.

She was a member of the First Church of Christ, East Palestine.

Her husband, Joseph W. Campbell Sr., whom she married July 27, 1946, preceded her in death on May 23, 1996. A son, James W. Campbell Sr., and a grandson, James E. Campbell Jr., had also preceded her in death.

She is survived by three daughters, Nancy (Allen) Pegg of New Castle, Pa., Laura (Bill) Riley of Darlington, Pa., and Velma (Ken) Bratt of Rogers; and one son, Joseph Campbell Jr. of New Castle, Pa. She also leaves two sisters, Margaret Forney and Charlotte Sutherin, both of Columbiana; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine, with Robert J. Helbeck of her church officiating. Burial will follow in East Carmel Cemetery, Rogers. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, and for one hour prior to the time of service.
