Randall E. “Randy” Gauding
SALEM — Randall E. “Randy” Gauding, 58, of Columbiana, passed away Wednesday morning, March 22, at Salem Medical Center with his beloved wife at his side.
Randy was born on June 18, 1958, in Salem, a son of Eugene and Dorothy (Grimes) Gauding.
A Leetonia High School graduate, he also studied at Johnson Bible College for two years. He was a worship leader and pastor at Highland Christian Church for 15 years, and worked in that capacity as well at Woodland Park United Methodist Church and Winona Methodist Church. Randy attended Abundant Life Church in New Waterford.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, the former Bonita Homan, whom he married Aug. 20, 1983; stepmother, Ruth Gauding; a brother, Jim Hofer and his wife Jane of Lisbon; a sister, Judy Martin and her husband Bob of Columbiana, as well as many nieces and nephews, Michelle, Halee, David, Bill, Tyson, Zach, Mitch, Craig, Kayla, Brandy and Ryan.
Randy was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy, his father Eugene, and his nephew, John Hofer.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 27, at Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm St., Columbiana, with Minister John Reed officiating.
The family will receive friends at 10 a.m., an hour before the services at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made in Randy’s memory to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 15829, Arlington, Va. 22215; or Big Reach Center of Hope, 11767 Lisbon Road, P.O. Box 53, Greenford, Ohio 44422.
The family has entrusted the Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana, Ohio with the arrangements for their loved one.
