Rodney Earl Logan

COLUMBIANA — Rodney Earl Logan, 53, of Pensacola, Fla. went home to be with the Lord on April 18, 2017.

He was born on Dec. 14, 1963 in Phoenix, Ariz., the son of Norma Wright Reed and Don Logan Sr.

He graduated from South Range High School in North Lima, Ohio. He went on to graduate from the Police Academy. Rod worked as a corrections officer at federal prisons in Ohio and California, proudly finishing his career at Pensacola Federal Prison Camp, where he was only two years from full retirement.

He attended Hillcrest Baptist Church in Pensacola. Rod was a true disciple who loved to witness to anyone. Many times, when Rod was out with his brother Don, he would stop to pray or witness with anyone whom he felt needed him more than the current course they were on.

He was a sergeant-at-arms for the Christian Motorcycle Association in Pensacola; an active Mason; a Grotto Clown known as “Classy”; and president of Lake Estelle Home Owner’s Association.

Rod loved music any place, any time. In fact, he was a professional drummer at a young age. Rod was also a great dancer. He was a perfectionist, very meticulous, and very serious even when joking around. His word was his bond, something he learned from his Uncle Don.

Rod loved motorcycles, particularly his Harley Davidsons. Cleaning and polishing his Harleys and truck was Rod’s nature. He was a marksman with an extensive knowledge of weapons.

There was no limit for the love Rod had for his country and the American flag.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Wright Reed; father, Donald Logan, Sr.; and uncle, Don Wright, Sr.

Rod leaves to cherish his memories a brother, Don (Mary) Logan, Jr.; nieces, Chelsea Dawn Logan, Makenzie Mae Logan and Taylor Elizabeth Logan; and his little buddy, Alex Miser. In addition, numerous friends from the East Coast to the West Coast.

Rod was a true man of God! His million dollar smile and laughter will be missed by everyone.

A celebration of Rod’s Life will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Greenford Christian Church, 11767 Lisbon Road, Greenford, Ohio with Senior Pastor Sean Kelly officiating.

The family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 p.m.; two hours before the services on Tuesday, May 2 at the Greenford Christian Church. Masonic services will be conducted at 7 p.m.

The family encourages donations may be made in Rod’s memory to the CMA – Christian Motorcycle Association, Maranatha Riders, 4890 Randee Circle, Pensacola, Fla. 32526.

The family has, of course, entrusted Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana, Ohio with the arrangements for their loved one. We are sorry for Mark Beck’s loss of his good friend Rod. Mark and Rod enjoyed many miles riding their bikes together.

Family and friends are invited to visit www.seederly-mongandbeck.com to sign the guestbook or send private condolences.
