Jack L. Shaffer

ROGERS — Jack L. Shaffer, 69, of Echo Dell Road, died at 11:51 a.m. Thursday in the emergency room at East Liverpool City Hospital.

Born Aug. 19, 1948, in Salem, he was the son of the late Arthur J. and Mildred (Welling) Shaffer.

An avid farmer and Army Vietnam veteran, Mr. Shaffer worked as a truck driver for 27 years with Ergon Trucking, retiring in August of 2016. He was a member of the Williamsport Chapel Church.

Survivors include his wife Marlene (Dillon) Shaffer, whom he married Oct. 10, 1970; a daughter, Tammy (Joe) Noday of Rogers; a son, Kevin (friend, Bill Faith) Shaffer of Rogers; three sisters, Betty (Earl) McCoy of New Waterford, Shirley (Tom) Wickey of Columbiana and Mary Safreed of Salem; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Dyer officiating. Private burial with full military honors will take place Monday morning at Grove Hill Cemetery in Hanoverton.

The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until the time of services Sunday at the funeral home.
