Joe Cosgrove
SALEM — Joe Cosgrove, 73, died at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, Dec.13, 2017 at the University Hospital in Cleveland. He was born April 28, 1944 in Salem, the son of the late Lester J. Cosgrove Sr. and Mary (Petro) Cosgrove.
He was a 1962 graduate of Salem High School, he was employed for 30 years at Dad’s Pet Care Co., prior to that the former Deming Pump Co. and a salesman at the former Loudon Ford. He was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church, former member of the Salem Knights of Columbus, Salem Elks and the Salem Golf Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1962-1965 and served in the Vietnam War.
Survivors include Constance (Bricker) Cosgrove, whom he married June 17, 1967, celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this year; a son, John Cosgrove of Salem; two daughters, Christine (Ron) Lesko of Mineral Ridge and Pamela Cosgrove of Salem; two sisters, Mary Ann (Ed) Manning of Salem and Linda Cosgrove of Salem; two brothers, Michael (Wendy) Cosgrove of Salem and Gary Cosgrove of Salem; and three grandchildren, Corey, Jacob and Katelyn.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, 2017 at the St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Robert Edwards along with Father Michael Swierz officiating. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017 at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Hope Cemetery.
