Shirley A. Sadler Clark

ROGERS — Shirley A. Sadler Clark, formerly Shirley Davis, entered the gates of heaven peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Clark was born Jan. 2, 1937, in Charleroi, Pa., a daughter of Irwin and Lavina (Pepple) Sadler and had lived in this area most of her life.

Shirley was a supervisor for 40 years for WM Inc. in Washingtonville. She was a pillar of the Union Ridge Bible Baptist Church in Rogers where she taught Sunday school for 35 years and was also treasurer for 12 years. She was instrumental in the merger of the Union Ridge chapel and the Negley Bible Baptist churches. She loved hosting church and family reunions and knitting for family newborns. Shirley was known as Gram Shirley at church.

Her husband, Robert L. “Skin” Clark, whom she married March 17, 1972, died Dec. 28, 1995.

She is survived by her companion, Willie Cantrell; a daughter, Rita (Terry) Hughes of Negley; two sons, Ray (Barbara) Davis of Alliance and Robbie (Rick) Davis/Dixon of Westminster, Colo.; a stepdaughter, Kim Kemats; three sisters, Janet McKenzie, Beverly Karlen and Tami Sadler; four brothers, Jack Sadler, Jim Sadler, David Sadler and Jerry Sadler; a stepbrother, Travis Sadler; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant sister and brother, and a sister, Margaret Weikart.

Interment will be in Oakdale Cemetery.

The family will be holding a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, at the Union Ridge Bible Baptist Church in Rogers.

The family would like to especially thank Shirley’s granddaughter, Melissa Blackburn and Shirley’s companion, Willie Cantrell for making it possible for Shirley to be home these last few months.

Contributions in memory of Shirley may be made to the Union Ridge Bible Baptist Church building fund or Hospice of the Valley.

Professional services were handled by the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home in Columbiana.
