Thomas W. Handy

SALEM–Thomas W. Handy, 80, of Salem died Friday at Alliance Community Hospital.

Thomas was born in Sebring on Feb. 8, 1938, a son of the late Everett and Edith (Blake) Handy. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired from GM Lordstown.

He is survived by his children, Gregory (Darlene) Metz of Beloit, Chuck (LaDonna) Handy of Damascus, Thomas (Donna) Handy of Salem, MaryAnn (Dwayne “Sonny”) Bandy of North Benton, Lori Beachman of Florida and Tammy Betz of Sebring; 13 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Evert, Richard, Ronald, and James Handy and a sister, Shirley Grund.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown funeral home. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit.
