Robert Frank Fife

LISBON — Robert Frank Fife, 96, formerly of North Beaver Street, died at 10:35 a.m. Monday at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a recent illness.

He was born Sept. 10, 1921 in Wayne Township, a son of the late Clarence E. and Elva E. (Huffman) Fife.

He attended Wayne Township and Lisbon Schools and was a 65-year member of the Lisbon First United Methodist Church.

He worked for various mining and construction companies and was a Master Mechanic and teacher at the Operating Engineers School at Pine Lake. He retired from the Operating Engineers Union Local 66.

Mr. Fife served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during World War II.

His wife, Lydia M. (Bowles) Fife, whom he married June 5, 1948, preceded him in death Nov. 2, 2007.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with the Rev. Tina Gallaher officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Lisbon Cemetery.

The family will receive guests from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
