Billy Deane Snyder

He was born Jan. 6, 1936, in Salem, the son of Bert and Margaret Virginia (Glass) Snyder.

Billy worked at the former Penn Motor in Salem as a salesman for 50 years. He was a member of Phillips Christian Church and served as an elder. Billy was a 1953 graduate of Salem High School, an avid gardener, hunter and loved tractor pulls. He was a very loving husband and father. Billy served in U.S. Army Reserves.

Survivors include his wife, Martha (Stein) Snyder, whom he married Sept. 16, 1961; a son, Eric Snyder of Salem; and a daughter, Chris (John) Toalston of St. Pete, Fla.

Besides his parents, a brother, James L. Snyder, also preceded him in death on Oct. 1, 2008.

Services will be held at noon Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Phillips Christian Church with Pastor Steve Singer officiating.

Calling hours will be held from 11:30 a.m. to noon Thursday at the church. Burial will be held at Franklin Square Cemetery in Leetonia. Military honors will be provided by the Salem Honor Guard after the funeral at the cemetery.
