Valois Jane Imobersteg

BELOIT — Valois Jane Imobersteg, 92, of Beloit, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Aug. 2, 2018.

Valois was born on July 25, 1926, to the late John and Ola (Kyser) Freshly. Valois was a lifetime member of Bethel United Church of Christ, a 77-year member of Mile Branch Grange, a member of George D Worth American Legion Auxiliary, and was a Caring Friend Volunteer at Copeland Oaks for 20 years.

Valois worked for the West Branch School District as a secretary for 30 years and retired in 1993. She also held secretarial positions at B & W Tubular and Taylor Craft. She enjoyed visiting and having lunch with her friends. Always a proud West Branch Warrior, she also enjoyed keeping track of former West Branch students.

Valois is survived by a son, Donald Imobersteg of Cuyahoga Falls; daughters Connie (Glenn) Willis of Salem, Kathy Collins of Boardman and Kay (Joe) Kalmer of Canfield; six grandchildren, Shane Willis, Shawn Wiesemann, Megan Wade, Brei Miller, Liza Imobersteg and Alex Imobersteg; six great-grandchildren, Evan and Aiden Wiesemann, Logan, Ava and Ashlyn Willis and Brantley Wade; and a brother, Ray Freshly of Mesa, Ariz. She also leaves behind her faithful companion, her dog Dory.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eldis “Buzz” Imobersteg, who passed away in 2011, and a sister, Juanita Boron.

A private family service will be held. Burial will take place at North Georgetown Cemetery.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Beloit Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 68, Beloit, Ohio 44609.

As per her wishes, Valois requests that you celebrate her life and spirit by taking a friend to lunch.
