Peggy Knestrick

HANOVERTON–Peggy Lou Knestrick, 90, of Hanoverton, Ohio passed away at her residence Friday, Aug. 31, 2018. She was born Jan. 31, 1928 to Kenneth and Margaret Crouch.

Peg married Clyde L. Knestrick on Oct. 14, 1954 and he died Jan. 7, 1988. Peg operated the License Bureau in Hanoverton and also owned the Dry Cleaner’s Store in Hanoverton.

Peg was an avid bowler and a member of McCook U.S.B.C. Hall of Fame. Peg will be remembered by her involvement in the community by actively participating in the following: The American Legion Auxiliary in Hanoverton, the Hanover Township Fire Department Auxiliary, the Hanoverton Village Council and the Pedro Card Club.

She is survived by four daughters, Bonnie (Terry) Roudebush of Hanoverton, Nanette (John Jackson) Knestrick of Southport, N.C., Susan (Scott Gostey) Pitts Gostey of Salem and Juanita Grant Leetonia; two sisters, Delores Rance and Jackie (Paul) Pirone, both of Salem; a brother-in-law, Jim Elder of Beloit; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her stepfather Rolland Sprowl; her companion H. Elton Pickering; siblings Rolland Sprowl Jr., John Sprowl, Connie Wolf, Dorothy Wickersham and Gloria Elder; one grandson, Michael Lee Pitts; two great-grandsons, Joseph Spencer and Shawn Grant Jr.; and a granddaughter, Jodi Spencer.

Calling hours for Peg will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018 at the Maple Cotton Funeral Home. The funeral service for Peg will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018 at the funeral Home with Douglas Demar officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery in Hanoverton.
