KENSINGTON — Mary A. Benson, 103, of Kensington, died Saturday at the Community Health Center of Lisbon.

She was preceded by her husband, Paul R. Benson, in 2002.

Born in Jobs, Ohio on July 22, 1915 she spent most of her life in the area graduating from Minerva High School in 1933. She was the daughter of Ruth and Evan James. Mary and Paul settled in Kensington in the 1940s to raise their family. For many years Mary worked at the Kensington IGA.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Linda Beadnell of Hanoverton; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded by a son, Harry Lee Challis.

Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Maple-Cotton Funeral Home in Kensington. A funeral mass will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Johns Church in Summitville, officiated by Father Steve Wassie and Father James Lang. A luncheon at the church hall will follow.
