Betty Lou Magill

COLUMBIANA – Betty Lou Magill, 91, died Monday, March 4, 2019.

Betty Lou was born on Jan. 13, 1928 in Massilon, Ohio, a daughter of Margaret Borts Smith.

Mrs. Magill was well known for her ability to show American Saddle Bred horses and to teach Saddle Seat Equitation. She also maintained a small antique business. Betty was married to her first husband, James, for 27 years until his death in 2001. In 2006, she married her second husband Melvin D. Freeze Sr., an antique auctioneer. Together they operated an antique auction house until his passing in 2011.

Betty Lou was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Scott, who passed in 1976; and both of her husbands.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Columbiana Cemetery Chapel.
