Emma Louise (Loesch) Kastenhuber

SALEM – Emma Louise (Loesch) Kastenhuber, 93, died at 6:35 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at the Hospice House in Poland following a brief battle with cancer. 

Emma was born on Aug. 30, 1925 in Salem, the daughter of the late John and Regina (Tischler) Loesch.

She spent the majority of her adult life serving as a dedicated homemaker for her husband, Walter, son, Steven and late daughter, Susan.  Later in life Emma was a dedicated grandmother to her grandson, Luke.  She kept an immaculately clean home and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family.  Emma was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Salem and a life member of the VFW Auxiliary. 

Her husband, Walter Joseph Kastenhuber whom she married April 26, 1952 preceded her in death on June 1, 1999. 

Survivors include a son, Steven Walter Kastenhuber of Ravenna, her grandson, Luke Kastenhuber and numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, her husband, Walter, and daughter, Susan, Emma was also preceded in death by her sisters, Regina Barnes, Ann Bentley, Elizabeth Sabella and Joann Alexander and her brothers, John “Poke” Loesch, Arthur Loesch and Walter “Mickey” Loesch.

Services will be held Sunday, March 17, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Alan Smearsoll officiating.  Calling hours will be held Sunday from 1 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery.
