SALEM — Elizabeth Hawkins, 83, of Salem, died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Youngstown.
She was born on Feb. 4,1936 in Hume, N.Y., the daughter of the late Esther Elizabeth Hawkins.
She graduated from high school from the former Emmanuel Bible School in Salem. She worked at the State of Ohio Land Reclamation office as a secretary. She had previously worked at the former Schmuel Bookstore. She was a former member of the Salem Pilgrim Church then attended the Home Mission Church in Alliance.
She is survived by her sister, Ruth Ann Hawkins of Salem.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Salem Wesleyan Methodist Church with Rev. Herb Smith, Rev. Sam Gandee, and Rev Stanley Grabill officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the church and from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday. There will be a private burial Monday in Hope Cemetery.
