Helen Agnes Dorff

Helen Agnes (Magyar) Dorff, 92, of Salem, died at 6:05 AM Friday, May 31, 2019 at Salem Regional Medical Center.

She was born on September 23, 1926 in Doylestown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Hrzenjak) Magyar.

She was a member of the Winona Methodist Church and was last employed at Warren Molded Plastics as a group leader. She previously worked at the Sebring pottery and was a “Rosie the Riveter” at Seiberling Rubber.

Helen dearly loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She enjoyed dancing, crocheting, flowers, bird watching and baking and cooking for others.

In later life she enjoyed spending time with her friends at McDonalds, playing bingo and doing puzzles. She was the 2013 Salem Senior Citizen of the Year.

She is survived by her children, Carol Ann Yurjevich of Salem, Stephen Skudlarek of Guilford Lake, Joan Marie (Alan) Gibson of Salem, Mary (Don Santee) Bowser of Salem, Charles Dorff of Guilford Lake, ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Dorff whom she married in 1951 and who died in 1976, three children, Gloria Leedy, John Dorff III and Donna Dorff, siblings Joseph, Anna, Stephen, George, Frank and twins Juliana Smith and Irene Magyar.

Services will be held on Tuesday, 11 AM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services. The Pastor’s Tom Scott of the church and Chad Palmer grand son-in-law will be officiating. The burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Sebring. A time of Visitation will be from 5-7 Pm Monday and 10-11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family has asked to have donations made to the Salem Banquet or the memorial fund of the Winona Methodist Church.
