Raymond Scott (Scotty) Herman

LAKE MILTON–Raymond Scott (Scotty) Herman, 47, of Lake Milton, Ohio passed away of natural causes Sunday, June 2, at his home.

Scotty had many jobs, working on farms, and with local contractors, including Baird Bros Saw Mill. His favorite was performing maintenance at Canfield Fairgrounds for 30-plus years.

Scotty was an outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Friendships meant everything to him, as he had many “buddies.”

Scotty leaves behind three beautiful children, who, in his owns words, were “the best thing that ever happened to him:” Curtis Ray, 14, Lila, 11, and Hanna, 9, of Newton Falls. Scotty has three siblings: sister Susan Walker (Taft) of North Carolina, Jason Leggett of Lisbon and David Brown of Cleveland; and nieces ElizaBeth Walker of North Carolina and Chase Brown of Salem. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Howard and Irene Herman of Ellsworth, maternal grandparents William and Mary Exline of Salem, father Raymond L Herman of Ellsworth, mother Anita Henry of New Middletown, and his nephew Cody Flowers of North Carolina.

There will be a celebration of his life at 5 p.m. Thursday, June 13 at Ellsworth Community Church, conducted by the Rev. Jay Eastman, with a dinner to follow.

On behalf of the family, we would like to thank all who have come together for Scotty, and been supportive in our time of need. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
