Trustees discontinuing First Night Canfield

To the editor:

After 17 years of presenting Canfield’s New Year’s Eve Celebration of the Arts to the community, the trustees of the corporation have decided to discontinue First Night Canfield.

We greatly appreciate the support from the community for all these years and know that many precious memories have been given to all person involved.

There are many who need to be thanked for making our past events possible and they number in the thousands which include attendees, sponsors, volunteers, entertainers, churches, the Canfield Schools, Canfield City Council, Canfield Township trustees, police, firemen and the Rotary Club of Canfield.

We encourage those who wish to continue this New Year’s Eve Celebration of the Arts to attend First Night Youngstown. Information can be found on www.firstnightyoungstownoh.com.

On behalf of the First Night Canfield Board of Trustees we extend our gratitude to everyone as we now become  part of the rich history of the Canfield community.

RICHARD BOWDEN,

Vice president,

First Night Canfield Board of Trustees
