YOUR SIDE: The Readers Take Over
Salem students served well by supportive community
To the editor:
To the voters of Salem: On behalf of the Board of Education and the administration, staff, and students of the Salem Schools, thank you for renewing our permanent improvement (PI) levy on Tuesday.
PI funds are used to make repairs and to buy instructional materials, computers, desks, and other items that have a life expectancy of at least five years.
Your support enables us to go forward with, among other programs, curriculum updates and the one-to-one computer initiative that is providing state-of-the-art technology for our students.
DR. JOE SHIVERS,
Superintendent, Salem City Schools
