Brown: It was a pleasure to serve Salem residents
To the editor:
It has been my pleasure to serve the residents of Salem for ten years as a member of Salem City Council: four years as a Councilman at Large and six years as Representative of the Second Ward. I said when I ran for Council at Large in 2005 that I would be your voice in City Hall. I’ve tried to keep my word. Many of the voting decisions I made were based on your input. That is the way it should be.
My appreciation to those that attended the Second Ward meetings I held since 2012. I listened to what you wanted and expect from city government. I hope you learned something in return. I’ve made a lot of friends that I wouldn’t have if I hadn’t served on city council. I will miss sitting on front porches and around kitchen tables talking about Salem.
Thanks for allowing me to serve you.
Clyde Brown,
Salem
