Seriously Mendez? Is that true? Ugh who has lost their mind? All this rank in this small of a department? It is ASININE and the same for the IDIOT that falls for this budget killing scheme.

JT really? This is your idea to "PRIORITIZE". You are off to a bad start there buddy. In the same breath you are asking for a secretary and you want to do something with those badges in your drawer? REALLY? After this stunt? I wouldn't be counting on that any time soon. Goodness this isn't hard to figure out why this city is broke. It's a rank money war. By the way, just how much is this rank war costing the tax payers? I will support these boys tooth and nail when it is for the right reasons but THIS? NO WAY.

1 LT. 1SGT over two officers per shift. We pay for this rank. So tell me something how much more just got ate up of your budget and taken from equipment? Better yet you explain to us how that "rank" is going to help fight the drug and crime war?

I agree somewhat Watchdog. That would give nearly half the department rank. They are a little top heavy. Each shift has a Lt. and Sgt. for two, maybe three officers.Don't get me wrong, it makes no sense not to have guys like Detectives to have rank. I'm just not sure on that many on one shift

I for one applaud this effort. It's usually your best officers on assignment. JT is just one example. I know for a fact Det.Talbert has deferred on promotionals every time. (Thank goodness he did) Let's keep moving in the right direction. Thank you Salem Pd and Mayor Berlin
