That is nice that the UAW is worried about these employees and that they think 10.00 an hour is welfare wages. Do they think these are the only workers in the tri county are working for these wages. If they really want to help work on getting the cost of living down like the price of gasoline food and so on they are a large union with ties into other unions they could make a public stand. But they would never do that they would just rather contribute to the cost of living going higher by having these companies increase wages then in turn increase what their product costs thus increasing the cost of living more so it will cancel out the raise. How do they think these compies pay for the raises they give out of their pockets NEVER it will always be pasted onto the consumer.

What a coincidence! Anyone watch SOTU last night? Go ahead and raise wages, they deserve it! Get a union in there! Your raises will go towards cost of living, health care, and UNION FEES! Ask American Standard employees how the union helped them!! Don't worry though, Obama will take care of it all!!

$10? Try $16 plus bennnies. Lot's of vacation taken at a moments notice. Want every friday off for months on end? Not an issue. Seems like union people have never been there, only listening to the cry babies.

So we're supposed to listen to a bunch of people who obviously aren't working about working conditions and wages? Rallying at a business and being a burden at 2 in the afternoon, if the Union is so great, why aren't these people working?

This shouldn't even qualify as a 'news' story; it is more like propaganda to aid and abet unionism. What a joke.

And "rally for justice" -- hilarious. Social 'justice' is just another code word for Marxism. What a pathetic attempt by the leaches to sucker in more working people.

I am waiting for the day when the union itself will open its own factory by RISKING ITS OWN CAPITAL, pay vastly inflated 'union' wages and benefits, and try to survive in the global economy; have at it leaches and union lawyers --- go build a widget and try to compete in the real world!

Why don't you just stand up qucityand put your money where your mouth is,.

What do you consider to be a fare wage and benefits pkg, ?

You act like becuase people are union their over paid ,lazy and do nothing to earn their pay.

Maybe some more minimum wage jobs ,no benefits will make our areaetter,

Some of these places are so bad the employees qualify for food stamps and other gov.benefits

They are only holding a rally because union membership is declining and they want to try to increase their numbers. Ive worked along side unions for the most part of my career. From what I see, the union doesnt benefit the hard worker nor does it encourage anyone to work hard, it only encourages a worker to do the least amout of work needed. Cant tell ya how many times Ive heard "aint my job"...ugh

Salem had many good companies over the yrs.Run by individuals who invested their mney and built a thriving co.

Only to be sold down the road to people who more interested in bleeding them dry or stuffing their own pockets.

Whens the last time you ever heard of a Deming Pump. Used to be #1 in the world.
