A messge has already been sent. The union has been voted out, yes out by the employees in the previous years. They got tired of paying for nothing they couldn't get on their own.

Not only did these SCUM BAGS (I'd put it in size 300 font if I could) cause a major inconvenience for anyone trying to get past Ventra yesterday, they apparently parked in the plaza on 2nd street and were shuttled down there. That is NOT a public parking lot and they took up most if it, those businesses had no where for their customers to park for at least an hour.

What a disgraceful, manufactured hit piece by none other than Larry Shields and the Salem News. Simply disgusting.

I am not against unions, but Salem can't afford to lose 450 jobs. Salem is barely a drop in the bucket to someone like Khan. At the first sign of problems he is likely to pack up and move everything to Mexico. I'd like to hear the other side of the story from the Salem plant employees.

Salem News now has 2 articals with interviews from the UAW why on earth wouldn't they find an employee who doesn't want the Union, somebody with good things to say about Ventra. OHH that's right is the Salem News they never get both sides of any story.

Do you think an employee will stand up and exspress his feeling one way or another

I don't care one way or another. It's the attitude that all union people are less than human

All these big wages and benefits does not apply to everyone. Just like different pay scales in management. But i guess it easier blame all for a few.

Managers that can't manager their way out of a paper bag, yet are somehow able to sign the paychecks every two weeks.

ladybug, I will no long address anything you say so long as you hide behind a screen name. If you can't stand behind what you're saying then you shouldn't say it.

I do have one question though, are you making the claim that no one is making a good living if they aren't a union member?

Union people for the most part are no different than anyone else,They go to work to try and support a family

Yes theres bad union people out there. But i never hear anyone complaining about the other side of the coin,

The unions did not create the mess where in today.Greed,Fraud and Poor decision making at ttop of some of these est, did.

Never hear about that.

swager, it is a well know fact that companies intimidate employees whom want to form a union and they could be fired for being enthusiastic toward the support of a union, so just because it was voted down does not necessarily reflect the contention of the workers.

It's a well known fact that the union was voted out and has been voted down. Also, according to people I know that work there it seems to be the overall opinion that they STILL do not want to unionize. Heck, go read the same article on the Mj website. Why don't the UAW and "supporters" just leave these workers alone?

If there are no issues then why would management intimidate the big happy family?

The National Labor Relations Board has issued complaints against the company. The NLRB only issues a complaint after and I emphasise AFTER they have completed an investigation.

Flex-N-Gate Texas, LLC (16-CA-027742, et al.; 358 NLRB No. 76) Arlington, TX, June 27, 2012. The Board found that the employer, an automotive parts manufacturer and assembler, violated the Act by: (1) interrogating employees through offering them anti-union stickers during an election campaign; (2) coercively interrogating an employee and promising him unspecified benefits if he refused to support the union; (3) threatening employees with discharge for supporting the union; and (4) discharging three employees due to their pro-union activities. Regarding the discharged employees, the Board also found that there was insufficient evidence to establish that they were supervisors.

Hilarious, the radical, marxist obama administration's NLRB issued a complaint, imagine that. Oh wait, could this be the same NLRB dominated by ILLEGALLY appointed members that has continued to issue illegal and totaly void rulings for the last year. The same NLRB that a federal court just deemed to be moot due to obama's illegal appointment of radical anti-business members. Oh yes, THAT NLRB.

Keep the funnies coming, please.
