LISBON — Lisbon police officer Dan Downard has resigned, apparently to take another job, according to Mayor Dan Bing....

Don't just be mad at ole Danny boy...be furious with those that permitted him to pull this off at the expense of the taxpayers! This is proof as to why the taxpayers need leadership not willing to aide and abet these injustices.

These paid "vacation" administrative leave policies are ridiculous. The second Downard resigned they had him and they should have immediately told him to refund the pay he earned for every hour he didn't work. It's one thing to pay them to protect the innocent until proven guilty saga but NOW, he resigned. New ball game.

Aww Dan... I think its great how they nicely word it "financial irregularities." If it was me- it would be theft, money laundering, and embezzelment. It must be a good feelibg to be part of the elite "untouchables." Some people have to put forth effort, hard work, and many brain hours to be untouchable, others just had it gave to them. Im also amazed by how fast another job was obtained, with the economy in shambles, a man under investigation and suspension was able to obtain employment. WoW....thats amazing! Nobody else can find a job....but Downard can. I would like to close with this...For years, Dan, you put people away for crimes that will always be there. Yes, you may have slowed it at times but that war will never end. Theres way more of "us" than there is of you, I guess you could say.
