It looks like Halleck and the Republicans cut a deal with the Democrats. They won't look at the computer if it costs too much money. Don't be surprised if Halleck has no opposition in his next election.

$40 will buy you the data recovery cable. Great for the "do-it-yourselfer". Or about $100+ for a service to do it. I would hope the county IT tech would know this.

RealDeal, that's speculation thinking Halleck won't have opposition. This is turning into a witch hunt It has already been determined this is an over statement with no money lost This is now nothing more than a political witch hunt with Johnson pulling the strings of his marionette officeholders.

This is out of hand. The attorney generals office could have a ball with this bunch. This good ole boy system that has so many State Violations in it isn't even funny.

What in the hello is wrong with this bunch? Nothing in that office belongs to Boob-rack. Everything belongs to the public. Just the fact alone that they had to hunt down that computer is unacceptable. Everything these offices do are suppose to be DOCUMENTED and accounted for...the Ohio Sunshine laws and state laws demand it. Transparency and Accountability people...do you not comprehend this?

Do any of these people who are acting like they are to big for their britches on their little power play pat me on the back big boy grab understand the penalty of laws for "concealing material facts and evidence" in a public office could result in somebody's butt be put behind bars. This has now gone past

Boobracks mess, the actions alone that these others are playing has crossed a line. Somebody had better grow a brain quick.

Since the computer was found with other non-working computers, it was hardly lost. These computers are auctioned off every August, nothing was being hidden. I'm republican but you guys are making fools of yourselves. Expected it when Halleck was elected.

Hunt it down? It broke down, it was stuffed in a room with a bunch of other broken down computers. Little Miss Marple wannabe thinks she discovered Atlantis or something.

Well Millikin was the only one smart enough to look in the most obvious place to find the "missing" computer. I am sure Bolon, Barorabk and the IT guy knew where the computer was but, instead, played stupid and tried to lead the public into believing it was lost.

Which leads me to what did we learn from this? First, an elected county official allowed an illegal investment, covered it up until he was out of office. Now hes our state rep. Second, from the original article, I get the feeling no one at the court house has even considered looking into ensuring our sensitive information is kept confidential. Nor do they even know where to look. Evidently Bolon, Mr IT, and Barborak didnt care as evident by the story they gave the reporter regarding the whereabouts of the hard drive.

Third, Barborak and Mr IT tried to pull Pheonix into this mess leaving us with a possible slander lawsuit. Better watch what you say publicly people. Fourth, we have to suffer with Barborak and Bolon as our elected officials for the next couple of years, but Mr IT (whether employed by the county or contracted) needs to go. He lied just as bad as the others. In this day and age, putting our information at risk cannot be tolerated.

Perhaps it only appears Miss Marple found the computer in the broken down computer room as the result of a long exhaustive effort simply because the entire story of a "missing computer" was made news before it WAS news. Hmm? Kinda like, Now where did I put my glasses?? Oh their on my head! And why assume anyone, Mr Barborak or otherwise would necessarily know where someone stuck the computer? Unless you are simply being economical with your intelligence

I don't care "how it got into a broken computer room". What I care about is how everyone has lied as to not knowing its whereabouts. All the effort in the lying speaks miles to me that they want to cover something up. If nothing is wrong, then just come clean and be done with it.

My point EXACTLY. WHO says anyone was lying! NO ONE. Assumptions based on nothing. Just minds that automatically assume the worst. Which is bad enough in itself. But then to try to spread it as fact.. that is irresponsible.

If assuming the worst is lying, then where does that leave ignorance on their part? Are you telling me these 3 individuals were unaware of a thing called inventory? Are they so incompetent in not knowing that every piece of equipment is required to be tagged, inventoried, and tracked as to its location? As dept heads that is inexcusable. As for Mr IT, it is his responsibility to maintain the integrity of all electronic information. If these 3 are THAT incompetent, then they need to go NOW...

Boy oh boy. Since you cannot, for some reason, figure this out on your own, I will try to enlighten you. The article that first mentioned a "missing hard drive" was on April 17th. The article in which Miss Marple had discovered it was on April 25th (a day after the meeting she announced it at I am guessing). That is a week. 7 days. Or, 5 business days. How come there was even MENTION that it was MISSING (along with innuendos regarding perhaps maybe someone hiding it etc) after 5 flipping days!!? THAT is my point! 5 days! It takes me that long to find something at my home occasionally. THIS IS NOT A NEWSWORTHY STORY!! Maybe after months and months of searching but come on people!

And FYI as department heads, they perhaps did not tag or inventory anything themselves. Someone else most likely did it. Meaning that they would NOT necessarily know its exact whereabouts. Geez

Your home, poolboy, must be the most organized place in the world. How does it feel being the only person in the world to never have misplaced anything? Congratulations on that!

"Your home, poolboy, must be the most organized place in the world. How does it feel being the only person in the world to never have misplaced anything? Congratulations on that!" - I know where my computer is. And yes, maybe someone else did the inventory but that dept head is responsible for the assigned equipment thus meaning they should have record or know where to go to get the record tracking the equipment..oy vey
