Obama tramples our basic liberties

May 25, 2013

President Barack Obama and his liberal supporters have made it very clear their philosophy of government is that it is their way or the highway....

From Robert Shrum (normally a liberal reporter)...What do you think?

***"For the White House, there is no crime here, there is no scandal, no matter how feverishly, irresponsibly, or demagogically the GOP labors to concoct one. This is not a case of Nixonian indifference to the Constitution, the law, and the president's oath of office. But it does look like a reprise of Cartersque incompetence, increasingly so as we learn more about how the White House staff handled—or mishandled—a crisis they knew was coming."

Does that mean we just forget it ever happened? That we just shrug our shoulders and go about our lives?

I'd like a comment from both liberals and conservatives...both democrats and republicans. What do you believe and what do we do now?

Lucky for us, the majority of the people DID see the truth in what Romney said. And proceeded to vote for Obama :)

Louigi, at least three of us have pointed that out to ladybug and truth and they continue to make statements as if Romney was saying really awful things about these folks. In addition, the person who did the taping admitted he edited the tape to make Romney's message sound bad. But alas, the truth just doesn't matter.

Reading Romney's comments in context, He was discussing the voters he was targeting. The 5-9% that are independent and could possibly be swayed to vote for him. His lower tax message would not effect 47% of the electorate because they do not pay taxes or are recipients of other entitlements. HE was in no way saying he didn't care about this segment of voters, but was realistically explaining that his tax message wouldn't get their vote. Any other interpretation is a departure from the truth.

Democrats originally brought up the 47%...Romney told a closed session how he would not get their votes and he got hammered because a spy filmed it. Does that sound about right?

The guy lied to get in and that fits...the democrats are living by telling lies.

Bob Schieffer, considered by most an ultra-liberal commentator was vey upset with the Obama administration this morning...

“So I am glad the president has asked the attorney general to review whether his investigations into leaks is having a chilling effect on journalists,” said Schieffer in closing. “But it shouldn’t stop there. The president needs to rethink his entire communications policy top to bottom. It is hurting his credibility and shortchanging the public. And to head the review, how about someone other than the attorney general whose department is so deeply involved? That makes no sense to me.”

The overwhelming majority of Americans agree that poor people are too dependent on government assistance, a poll reveals — and poll results differ very little according to income.

Overall, 71 percent of respondents in a Pew Research Center survey agree with the statement: "Poor people have become too dependent on government assistance programs."

Somewhat surprisingly, 68 percent of respondents earning less than $30,000 a year agree — more than the 65 percent of those earning at least $100,000 a year. Among respondents earning between $30,000 and $100,000, 77 percent agree.

One in five Americans — more than 67 million — depend on Washington for assistance, according to the Heritage Foundation's 2012 Index of Dependence on Government.

Pew also asked respondents about this statement: "Many people today think they can get ahead without working hard and making sacrifices."

This must be something new? Want to explain this one bug? Or is this just your imagination running rampant again trying to portray a lie?

ladybug states: "Kind of like the lies Bush and Cheney feed the american people about Irag"

You mean the same evidence a majority Democrat house and senate put their approval stamp on?

Besides, what does THAT have to do with what Obama is doing since you always use the same response over and over.

Ladybug, pssst, I promise...I won't vote for Bush again!!! LOL
