I agree.

What does one do anymore ?

It's endless and as long as it doesn't come out of their pockets or there's no repurcussions itwill continue.

I'm surprised no one else is commenting about what I feel are mistakes that are costing us local taxpayers money. Obama and Egypt might be more exciting, but this is local people flushing our money away.

"Hoppel said commissioners are willing to continue paying the $2,839 a month that goes towards paying off the construction loans"

"The construction loans and operating expenses Were To Be Shared by the various government agencies"

Does this mean they are Not being shared? If so, please Mr Hoppel, you commissioners pay the extra since you are willing--as a taxpayer I am not.

WHY would you write a contract that says the operator is responsible to pay all utilities but then exclude water/sewer? If there wasn't water service, no need to exclude it--they'd still be responsible for all utilities. But short-sightedness is costing $3400/mo until some time next year. Contracts are written for what Might happen as well as what is. And when renewing the contract this cost will be a detriment to us rather than just an assumed operating cost as it would have been if contract were originally written with some common sense.

now he tax payers are on the hook for water. If the private co.profits from running the county jail, why should we have to pay a dime for anything?Remember the inmate who took a header off of the 2nd tier? The tax payers had to pay for his medical care.
