Justin84 you don't have to apologize because I didn't take it wrong. As for what we talk about it could be all different things. We very rarely stick to the actual topic. Figuring out what people are talking about isn't always easy. Two people could be talking about one thing and two others could be talking about something else. So jump in and go with it. Most are decent on here and it it just casual discussion. This is no brain game of whose smarter than another. We sometimes will disagree even with those we disagree...but the next day...we go back to normal. We don't try and run anybody off. Some try but we over look them and go on. Glad to see you here!

Mr. Mingus, can I give you a small piece of advice. Neighbor to neighbor. Resident to resident. Why don't you try "nice" without the added insult that you fling out with it. You might be surprised at the healthy discussions it would bring.

Wow, ya'll been busy in here! Is this where I should say I am sorry for making the comment about a man defending a woman's honor? Didn't mean to set off an ugly war on it. Guess that was the deep south coming out of me. Where men are gentleman and respectable to women by their upbringing.

And look at all these new game rules.

Does that mean I have to explain to Mr. Mingus why I feel that way and not hurt his feelings in the process with a demand for an answer? Not! Unless of course, he was to ask politely then I might. Maybe he would pick up on a few tips on how to behave respectfully in the public. Snap! Is that libel? I just defamed his manners in the eyes of the public, wonder if I will be sued for it?

Sounds like Obama policy, but not Obama campaign rhetoric. He was all over Bush about the debt, he promised to cut the deficit in half, remember? Doubled it LOL

"I'm running for President, I contend that the national debt is not a problem and actually it needs to increase" SOUNDS LIKE AN OBAMA CAMPAIGN SPEECH!! HEY IT WORKED FOR HIM.

Personal attacks are against the policy of the Salem News, huh...maybe you should take that to heart Watchdog. And I think instead of slander, you're looking for the word libel. Defined as "a published false statement that is damaging to a person's reputation; a written defamation." I could have a very strong libel case against you. You just painted me as a psychopath with a gun that is threatening your well being on another article. You don't get excused from that by saying you were kidding.

It's funny how you want to talk about getting along now that you've been pushed into a corner and made yourself look so stupid. Like I said, you used to be the big bully on the block around here and no one called you on it and it's driving you nuts that someone actually is.

Slanderous remarks, brain wars of I am smarter than you are not going to fly. NONE us do that and I won’t be a part of it. I will just ignore those comments. Really easy to get along with, I really am. The best way to get along on here. If you don’t know what somebody meant…ask them. It works for of us on here. NOW that is only my opinion. If you don’t agree then don’t agree. It is up to you.

You state: “If you read my posts in a less defensive manner you could perceive that i was actually supporting you just as much as mingus.” Exactly why would you assume that I took it defensive? Because I didn’t. Do I need to start using little smiley faces or hearts, or tear symbols to make my comments clearer through my emotions? I can see now we may just have to start doing that so nobody misinterprets someone’s emotion.

You state: “I think some of you just prefer to feel like you sit atop a pedestal and preach to others. That isnt directed at any one person either, but im sure a few will take offense.” Then that would be their personal problem.

Now is this nonsense done? Justin you will learn, and you can ask the others on here. I always make statements that I wish we could get more people on here to discuss our city and nation issues. But as for personal attacks that are against the rules of the salem news.

You stated: “It is quite simple watchdog. If you want to stand behind your OPINION then you should defend your opinion or your beliefs.” I stand behind all of my opinions and I will choose which opinions I wish to defend if I believe they need defending.. That is as simple as it is. I don’t pretend to know it all as some. In fact, any of our regulars on here know that if any time I am proven wrong. I have corrected myself and make a decent apology. You will learn that of me now that you are here.

You state: My point was that it’s ridiculous that someone else had to defend your beliefs for you. “We all do that of each other here. When we agree or have the same view. It is that simple. You are upset for Zero’s response. TAKE IT UP WITH HIM. It was his choice and reasoning. I didn’t ORDER HIM to that or do I need to EXPLAIN his opinion. As for why he did it…wasn’t nobody’s business.

Justin84 first of all, I could care less why you are here or who you are. It's your right to be here and express freely under the constitution anything you wish or desire. The Salem News extends that privilege to us on their website.

You stated: "I think you feel that mingus recruited me to come here and be a pain."

Did I address you on that? Did I specifically NAME YOU? Where did I say to you "liar" I know that you were one them and call you out on that? NO WHERE. Apparently your own subconscious nailed you. I didn't say a word to you. Now did I?

I was responding to Zero's opinion. Not yours. In fact, I never said a word to you until YOU addressed me with your remarks. I responded and asked you a question. You didn't answer it. So does that mean I should spit out some arrogant smart remark to intimidate you to answer it? As if you owe me an explanation?

Not to be sexist, but don't guys usually have a better throw? I thought spitting might be a non gender-handicap thing.

I think you feel that mingus recruited me to come here and be a pain. I came here on my own free will. The ignorance of the thread brings me back. I dont think any of you are lessers because of your opinions. I think some of you just prefer to feel like you sit atop a pedestal and preach to others. That isnt directed at any one person either, but im sure a few will take offense.

It is quite simple watchdog. If you want to stand behind your OPINION then you should defend your opinion or your beliefs. If not you are basically just talking out loud for no reason other than to hear yourself talk right? In which case you should shut up because thats annoying. My point was that its ridiculous that someone else had to defend your beliefs for you. If you read my posts in a less defensive manner you could perceive that i was actually supporting you just as much as mingus. But being defensive just proves my point that you defend your opinions. The article was written in the writers opinion? There is an opinion section of the news paper for that. I want news-newly received or noteworthy information, esp. about recent or important events.

Why does someone have to defend their opinion? Are you serious?! Here is why: I'm running for President, I contend that the national debt is not a problem and actually it needs to increase.

You don't think I would need to defend that opinion?

"able to pee on a tree"--Hey, my 3 yr old grandson just called today all excited because for the first time he got to pee outside "like an animal does". I guess that peeing on a tree thing is kinda nice for men.

Justin84 why does any woman have to defend her opinion to any man? Or anyone for that matter. I don't believe that there was any laws passed to the contrary.

These are "opinions". KEYWORD It is personal view on issues. Anyone can have opinion. Anyone can disagree with an opinion. In this case, there was no disagreement in opinions. The writer was disagreeing simply because of the who the writer was. It is a big difference.

Oh and by the way. I defend a lot of men. Does that mean I should be able to pee on a tree and drag him into a cave? But then again, most men, would actually love that!
