The port and the water district just funnel money and power to those who would never be hired in the private sector for their positions. Kinda like hiring someone who has zero experience running the ema. Nice new suv for the ema I see. I didn't see any workers there or any reps looking at the new Hams that passed the exams last weekend. You'd think with that many minors passing their tech bringing new blood in, well nevermind. It's obvious bringing new hams into the fold is not a goal for this office or the county. I wonder if any of them can run at tech level. Not the Ham, the office people. With so many stated hand held radios could any of the staff function? The surrounding counties participated in the last amateur radio day. This ema had no print anywhere.Did anyone notice the ? mark in the online version when Newbold spoke at Crestview?

I have AT&T Uverse...wireless.

Anybody that is without Internet access...is doing it by choice. Almost every single cell phone has Internet access.

More smoke blowin by the politicians.

But then again, this might be why we we need to vote out all these personal agenda politicians and get a few 21st Century leadership in this County. That might actually be refreshing for a change.

"At a time when many of the larger companies are going toward wireless communications, some residents and small businesses in rural areas are still unable to access the web."

I don't believe this is true. You can get satellite internet anywhere. It's a bit more expensive, but not too much more than T-W cable.

It's called hughes net satellite I'm on it. Can watch Netflix if I like. As the years go by laughing at the port and county is getting old. We just try to ignore them and do for ourselves. Things get done that way.
