Grant, I will repeat this since appears you still don't comprehend it and I have told you this before.

It is impossible to have a civilized conversation about drugs with you because you can't refrain from acting like a two year old.

I go to the south side of Youngstown all the time, it's called Boardman.

All jokes aside, I do leave the area quite a bit. In my travels, I get into some pretty bad areas, mostly work related. It's terrible elsewhere. The vast majority of the time, I can't wait to come home. But when I'm in those places, I want to be armed. Peace of mind is a great thing, even just to know you may have more options than just getting shot. Salem certainly isn't that bad, but having a gun is great for the exact same reason.

Proving again you don't seem to understand the difference.

30 people a day is a trend. A decade+ long decline in firearm deaths is a trend.

" Lets see. The retired cop who shot another cop at a show because he was texting.*****good reason.

Or the 12 yr. old who shot 2 kids at a Oklahoma . Just practicing for bigger things I guess . "

These are anecdotes. Get it?

So easy a child can do it!*

It shouldn't be every law abiding citizen, just as it shouldn't be zero law abiding citizens. The point is it's a personal choice, keyword personal. You don't have to own or carry a weapon if you don't wish to, it's YOUR choice. But regardless of the choice you make, you don't get to make my choice.

Ladybug, single anecdotal incidents are not the same as a decade long trend.

"So are you suggesting that everyone should carry a gun."

No, I am suggesting that every law-abiding citizen be trained and carry a gun.

There aren't enough police to take care of the problem. Almost everyone that posts here has said it.

Most criminals prefer to prey on the weak and unarmed.

We have to be ready to take care of ourselves. Now.

If your claiming gun violence is down when around 30 people/ day are being killed by guns,

God help us how many was it before ?

I am responding to ones other statement .

Which indicates to me if everyone was carrying a gun they wouldn't get shot OK !

No one is advocating that everyone walk around with a gun on their belt--why must you jump to ridiculous extremes?

Gun ownership is up, and has been for awhile. And gun violence is down, those are just the facts ladybug.

I have my guns and will use them if necessary. But the idea of everyone walking around with a gun on their belt is BS

The majority killed was unarmed. So are you suggesting that everyone should carry a gun.

Then turn every situation into a battle ground ?

The concealed carry law was to stop all of this ? The bad guy wasn'r supposed to know who had a gun causing them to back away.

huh over 11000 killed by guns in 2012 .Doesn't seem to be working well.

Because we have more guns is no excuse for the run away violence.

More gun deaths are a certain function of more guns. We have more guns than the rest of the world too, so that is bound to happen. The vast majority of the rest of the world also has higher crime rates, especially violent crime rates. An armed society is a polite society.

It might also be interesting that gun deaths in the USA avg over 10000 to 12000/yr. While in others contries it's in the 100's
