Mary Katherine Hawkins

COLUMBIANA — Mary Katherine Hawkins, 51, of 1061 Fairfield Ave. died at 3:50 p.m. Saturday at the Trinity West Hospital, Steubenville, of injuries from a motorcycle accident.

Mrs. Hawkins was born July 16, 1956 in Youngstown, a daughter of Frederick Shippert and the late Norma Jean Brooks Shippert and had lived in this area all of her life. She had been employed as a counselor for the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission the past 21 years.

Besides her father of Warren, she is survived by her husband, Mark R. Hawkins, whom she married June 8, 2007; four stepdaughters, Julie Hawkins of Bessemer, PA, Shiloh Hawkins, Lily Hawkins, and Emily Hawkins, all of Columbiana; a stepson, Arthur Hawkins of Poland; a sister, Carol Purnell of Lake Milton; and a brother, John Schippert of Lake Milton.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with the Reverend David H. Conrad and Pastor Jeff Coggins officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.

If friends desire, material tributes may take the form of a donation to the donor’s favorite charity.
