Richard Allen DeMeo

SALEM - Richard Allen DeMeo, 57, of Salem died at 10:30 p.m. Friday at his home.

A loving husband, father and a true friend to everybody, he will be sadly missed.

He was born on November 19, 1950 in San Francisco, Calif. To the late Thomas B. and Ruth E. (Krautner) DeMeo.

He has lived most of his life in the Salem area. He had been a CNC Machinist for 35 years at the former Crane Deming Pump Company in Salem.

Rick was avid blood donor, a former Union Stewart and he held various officer positions in the United Steel Workers Union that he took pride in.

Rick was a member of the Salem Italian American Club and a social member of the Salem VFW.

In his younger years, Rick would get a car in the winter and get it ready to race at the Salem Drag Strip during the summer. He always enjoyed family events and gatherings where all would come to have a good time.

Rick is survived by his soul mate and wife, the former Cynthia L. Albright whom he married on May 3, 1997; his children, Ami DeMeo of Salem, Brandy and husband Michael Ross of Columbiana; Richard (Tony) DeMeo of Salem; and Richie Pasco of Salem; sisters, Jean and husband Warner Blake of Salem; Cynthia and husband Jim Shasteen of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Melinda and husband Al Kenst of Salem; Melissa DeMeo of Salem;, brothers, Michael and wife Lois DeMeo of Atlanta, Ga.; and Patrick DeMeo of Atlanta, Ga.; and his grandchildren Sierra and Seth Ross of Columbiana.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Karen Diehl and a brother Stephen DeMeo.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Austin officiating.

The burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park in Beloit, Ohio.

A time of visitation will be held on Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
