William C. Gamble

COLUMBIANA -William C. Gamble, 61, of Columbiana, Ohio, passed away at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2008 at the Hospice House, after a nine-month battle with cancer.

Bill was born on June 23, 1947 in East Fairfield, Ohio, the son of Kenneth and Edna E. (Forsha) Gamble Sr.

Bill was a lifelong area resident and a member of the Columbiana Church of the Nazarene, where he helped out with the children's ministry.

He enjoyed hot rod cars and classic car shows. Bill had worked as a truck driver for 37 years and retired from Holland Trucking Company in 2002.

Bill is survived by his wife, Nancy E. (Staten) Gamble, whom he married on October 24, 1987. He is also survived by two daughters, Olivia E. Gamble of Columbiana, Heather S. Gamble of Columbiana; one son, William S. Gamble, stationed with the Marine Corps. in basic training at Parris Island, South Carolina; three sisters, Delores (Richard) Helman of Columbiana, Betty (Albert) Pittman of Columbiana, Debbie (David) Scyoc of Leetonia; and four brothers, Kenneth (Janet) Gamble of Columbiana, James Gamble of Columbiana, Gerald (Jane) Gamble of Salem, Robert (Juanita) Gamble of Columbiana.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at the Columbiana Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jan Winnale officiating. Burial will be in Columbiana Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2008 at the Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m., at the Columbiana Church of the Nazarene.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Columbiana Church of the Nazarene Children's Ministries, 330 North Elm Street, Columbiana, Ohio, 44408.
